Web App Redesign
New Website
Refined Brand Identity
Trademasters came to LSM with a challenge and an opportunity: Based in Northern Virginia, this home services and repair company was shifting to a membership-based business model and needed a centralized platform for members to track their service history and upcoming appointments.
They had previously partnered with another company for their web app design but were unsatisfied with the results. After working with them and seeing the success of the new web app designs, they chose to move forward with a complete website redesign as well.
One of the core challenges of the project was designing both the member platform and the marketing site in a way that felt distinct in purpose but still cohesive under the Trademasters brand.
This project was undertaken while I was Associate Creative Director at LSM.
All work is done under LSM.

Web App Case Study
Before
During my design audit of the existing platform, I identified several key usability issues. One of the most significant being how the process of creating and starting a work order was broken into multiple disconnected parts. Users could see all the steps they needed to take as separate boxes on their dashboard, which made the experience feel disjointed and frustrating. I recommended simplifying the workflow into a clear, step-by-step process, allowing users to understand the full journey up front and move through it with ease.

After
I shared examples with the client to help clarify the improvements, comparing the ideal user flow to the simplicity of a traditional e-commerce checkout experience—where users are guided through a clear, sequential process rather than being asked for information prematurely. For instance, you wouldn’t ask for a billing address before the user has even explored the products. Applying this logic to their platform helped streamline the work order process and reduce friction. The client was highly satisfied with the clarity and rationale behind the proposed updates, especially in contrast to the lack of direction they had experienced with their previous design team.
